This policy explains how the MechanicMate mobile app ("MechanicMate," "we," "us") handles information. MechanicMate is operated by an independent developer in the United States.

The short version

• MechanicMate does not require an account.
• We don't sell your information.
• We don't collect your name, email, location or contacts through the app.
• When you tap a link to a retailer or YouTube, that site's own privacy policy applies.

Information you enter

To look up parts, you can enter vehicle details such as year, make, model or a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). This information is used only to perform your lookup. A VIN identifies a vehicle, not a person. MechanicMate does not store your vehicle details on our own servers.

Third-party services

To provide lookups and links, the app sends the details you enter to third-party services:

• Vehicle data services — to decode VINs and look up vehicle information.
• Retailers such as AutoZone, Advance Auto Parts and Amazon — when you tap a "buy" link, the retailer's site or app opens.
• YouTube — when you search for or open an install video.

These services may collect information such as your IP address and device details under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.

Affiliate links and cookies

Some links in MechanicMate are affiliate links. When you tap one, the retailer or its affiliate network (for example, Amazon Associates or Sovrn Commerce) may set a cookie or use a tracking identifier so we can earn a commission if you buy something. We receive aggregate reports such as clicks and sales totals. We do not receive your name, payment details or what else you buy. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Analytics and advertising

MechanicMate does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. The app stores (Google Play and the Apple App Store) may provide us with aggregated, anonymous statistics such as download counts and crash reports.

Children

MechanicMate is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

Because we don't keep personal information on our own servers, there is nothing for us to delete. If you have questions, contact us and we'll help.

Changes to this policy

If we change how MechanicMate handles information, we'll update this page and the date above.
